The portable media gadget that has almost created a history is the “Ipod”, designed and manufactured by “Apple”. It comes in a variety of models, some of which can be used to play sound tracks alone and the others can play videos too. The models also differ in size and storage capacity.

The unique features of “Ipod” that made it so popular are the design and the user interface. The design is so appealing that it can attract any individual including those who are not into gadgets. The user interface is brilliant. They are operated using finger movements. While the older models have a pad like thing which can be used for performing operations, the new Ipod Touch can be operated using the screen itself using the touch screen mechanism. The new Ipod Touch is a master piece. Functions like tilting the Ipod, sliding the finger on the screen, expanding the fingers etc can be used for performing operations.

Apart from these great features, there are some cons too, which are no way significant as compared to the amazing features. The direct mp3 dump mechanism doesn’t work and Itunes software is mandatory to store songs and video and the price of Ipod is very high compared to other media players. Overall, Ipod is definitely one of the most unique gadgets which remains to be the top priority media player till date inspite of it’s high price.
